Hare Krishna!
In Srimad Bhagavatam 4th Canto 24th Chapter 29th verse in the purport, Srila Prabhupada states “Let us begin tracing the evolutionary process from the point of devastation (pralaya), when the whole universe is filled with water. At that time there are many fishes and other aquatics, and from these aquatics evolve creepers, trees etc, From these insects and reptiles evolve, and from them birds, beasts and then human beings and finally civilized human beings”.
Here he appears to concur with the theory of evolution. Yet he also said that at the time of dissolution (Brahma`s night) all souls are contained in the abdomen of Mahavishnu and when Brahma`s day appears they are manifested in various bodies according to their past consciousness. He also said that when the Lord desires to create he simply glances over material nature impregnating her and various life forms including humans are manifested based on their past consciousness or desires. It is not that humans evolved from lower species.
I am puzzled by this contradiction in his explanations. Could you please shed light on this and resolve my doubts.

Darwin’s theory of evolution is mainly based on the gross physical body. Now please read once again with this understanding…. haribol…
